The Nigerian Police says it has detained and attempted two of its staff escorting musician Davido for affirmed foolhardy shooting in Lagos. A video which flowed via web-based networking media indicated two policemen professedly shooting into the air in the city in a moving vehicle in Lagos.
The Head of Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU), ACP Abayomi Shogunle, disclosed to NAN that following grievances by individuals from the general population, the case was promptly enrolled by the unit.
“On Aug. 1, PCRRU was advised about a video available for use via web-based networking media in which a few men charged to be policemen were seen shooting noticeable all around in the city in a moving vehicle,” Shogunle said.
He said that the Commissioner of police responsible for Police Mobile Force (PMF) at the Force Headquarters, had recognized the men following the mandate of the Inspector-General of Police.
Shogunle said that the occurrence occurred on July 31 at 5 p.m. along the Murtala Mohammed International Airport street in Lagos. He clarified that the two policemen who were joined to the 20 Police Mobile Force Squadron, and were appended to a private security organization, Infinity Security Company.
Shogunle said that a prominent Nigerian Musician, David Adeleke, prevalently known as Davido, drew in them to give escort to him to his home while coming back from abroad. He stated:
