5 Diet Fallacies That You May Not Realize

Summers are finally knocking at the door, and we are thankful for it after the long and stormy winters we had recently, aren’t you? Anyways, with summer comes every woman’s desire of looking good in hot swimwear and most of us can be seen trying different diet fads or making new recipes in the kitchen to try to shape up a bit and look great in those beach vacation pics.

If you are among such women, then we urge you to note down 5 diet fallacies that you may not realize you have been following, because ladies, THEY WON’T WORK!

1. Carbs Make You Fat
Many people believe in that carbohydrates are the only element in their diets that’s making them fat and if they stopped having it, they will look like Jennifer Lopez or Kim Kardashian. Well, it’s not true. The fact is that there are two types of carbs, good carbs like whole grains, vegetables, legumes that fuel your body and bad carbs like cakes, candy, pasta, white bread, etc. As the names denote, you should eat good carbs and stay away from the bad ones to stay healthy!
2. Zero Calories are Great
People also have a perception that if they opt. for a product that is labeled as zero calories, it doesn’t count. Well, it does.
Research has proven that even if you are drinking a diet soda while working on your computers or being busy somewhere else, you will be less likely to lose weight than a person who drinks water instead of any soda. So, replace the sodas and low-calorie foods with water and see how your weight loss efforts bring results.
3. Short Juice Cleanses Work
This seven-day juice cleanses works, and it worked for me. You might have seen many women, even celebrities claiming the same but the fact is that they don’t make your tops looser. Though green juices are good for health and do give you energy, they can’t clean all the junk food you ate the night before. Green juices give best results when you stick to them and a healthy diet long term. They are not, we repeat not miracle workers!
4. Ditching Foods is Good
Many people ditch different food groups after reading about it in a celeb magazine or from a friend of a friend of a friend. That’s one of the stupidest things you can do to your body. If you are allergic to dairy products or gluten, or you are leaving them due to religious or ethical reasons, we have no business in telling you not to do it.

But if you are eliminating food groups to make those sexy dresses fit you by losing weight, you are harming your body by not giving it what’s good for it. Real food like cheese, curd, and bread have more benefits than you might know of.

5. Eating Late Night is Bad

There are still many people who prefer having every meal by the way their watches ask them to. This means having the first meal at 6 a.m. and the final meal of the day at 7 p.m. Though there is nothing wrong with such an approach, there are people who don’t eat anything after dinner even if they skipped lunch just for fear of getting fat.

The fact is, you won’t get fat by starving yourself but you might lose your health if you starve. No one is stopping you from having a small late-night meal if you plan all your meals accordingly and often feel hungry at night.

Follow your body’s needs and avoid thinking about food all the time or eating when you are bored. They never help!
