Barca top Spanish spending table

Barcelona have the most expensively assembled squad in La Liga, spending over 80 times as much on transfers as Las Palmas.

The CIES Football Observatory researched the transfer spend of all 98 top flight clubs in Europe’s top five leagues – with Barca’s the fourth most-expensive in Europe.
The Blaugrana’s current squad cost a total of €725m, which is €228m more than Real Madrid, who sit a comfortable second in the list on €497m.
Atletico Madrid (€298m), Sevilla (€160m) and Valencia (€147m) complete the top five, while 12 top flight Spanish clubs have assembled their squads for fewer than €50m.  
Las Palmas (€9m) have spent the least on transfer fees while Leganes and Getafe have both spent a mere €10m, while Girona and Levante have each spent €12m.
Manchester City top the list in Europe with an €878m spend – one of six English clubs in the top ten.
Barcelona are fourth in the European table with Madrid in sixth, while Atletico Madrid (14th) are the only other Spanish club in the top 25.
