Unai Emery believes his club’s home form at the Parc des Princes gives them an edge ahead of the Champions League second leg against Real Madrid.
The Parisians have won all their home matches this season but must overturn a 3-1 deficit against the European champions after last week’s reverse at the Bernabeu.
“It was a victory which was important particularly in light of Wednesday’s defeat,” Emery told reporters after the 5-2 win over Strasbourg, as cited by Spanish press agency EFE.
“We have won all of our matches at home and we have two more big tests here coming up against both Marseille and Real Madrid, but we are confident and our supporters have confidence.
“We want to demonstrate that not only can we perform at this level against Strasbourg – with all due respect – but also against the top level of European sides.
“We aim to remain very tough to play against at home and we want the Parc des Princes to remain a fortress.”
