It is the belief of many & especially people from this part of the World that the Military has no other value they add to the society than operating on the core values of their mandate which is meant for the upholding and protection of the nation’s sovereignty against external attacks and internal subversion.
The Nigerian Air Force has shown that there is more value the Military add to the society in ensuring that the civil society benefited from their services to the community which seen as they embarked on environmental Sanitation and Free Health Care services to the people of the community.
Towards cementing the existing and cordial harmonious Relationship between the Military -Civilians.
The Nigerian Air Force (Sam Ethan Air Force Base, Ikeja Lagos ) in collaboration with the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government engaged in community service with Environmental Sanitation and Free Medical Health care Services to the people of Oshodi which covered some major streets in the community.
The Nigerian AIR FORCE team was led by the commandant of Airforce Base Ikeja Air commodore S. O. Makinde, who was received into the community by the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon. Idris Bolaji Muse Ariyo and other members of his cabinet with the Leader of the House Rt Hon.Rasheed Obasa who led the legislators.
The Men of the Nigerian Air Force engaged in clearing of the drainages along Adeyemi street, obaelewu road with members of the community extending hands of fellowship during the exercise.
Free medical outreach services were also offered to the member of the public at Oshodi Resettlement Market where Military Doctors offered treatment on malaria and other minor sicknesses.
Residents within the community appreciated the collaboration of the Nigerian Air Force and Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Authority and hope such collaboration be extended to other facets of life which would be of great benefit to the people.
As the sanitation exercise was ongoing members of the community were entertained with melodious music by the Nigerian Airforce Band Team.
